Many car enthusiasts and gearheads have a dream car that they long to own. A Lamborghini is one of those vehicles. Lamborghini recently introduced the ultimate in automotive technology at Pebble Beach with their Aventador SVJ and the SVJ 63. The latter was named to commemorate the company’s founding in 1963. Also in commemoration, Lamborghini plans on manufacturing only 63 of the Aventadors. The company will offer 900 models of the SVJ.
The new 2019 model was designed to be the fastest car ever made by Lamborghini. The vehicle is equipped with a 6.5 liter, V12 engine that delivers 770 horsepower and 530 pounds of foot torque that enable the Aventador to go from zero to 62 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds. The car’s top speed exceeds 217 miles per hour.
The exterior body features carbon fiber and elaborate graphic designs that accentuate the sharp lines and curves of the car and its aerodynamic style. Along with harboring a powerful engine, the overall shape of the vehicle creates an increase in downforce to minimize drag. The front also features a floating splitter. The engine cover and front splitter feature electronic actuators, which open and close. The SVJ is wider and boasts an updated front bumper and side fins with upgraded air intakes that enhance the vehicle’s cooling ability.
The rear of the vehicle harbors a newly designed diffuser. The underbody is more aerodynamically efficient thanks to vortex generators, which circulate air around the body to increase the downforce along the rear axle. A rear wing and winglets along the side reduce turbulence while also enhancing downforce to make cornering and straight acceleration more responsive. The driver can split the wing on the left or right to increase the downforce to the wheel where it is needed most.
The suspension was redesigned to provide more gripping force. The anti-roll bar stiffness was also enhanced by approximately 50 percent compared to the SV Aventador. The rear-wheel steering technology helps keep the vehicle stable when braking.
All of these new features enabled the Aventador SVJ to lap the Nurburgring track in a time of 6:44:97. The new Aventadors will be available to consumers in the first few months of 2019. The starting price of the new and improved sports car $517,770.00.
